Strawberry Thumbprints 2/3 cup butter1/3 cup sugar 2 egg yolks - set aside the egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups flour 2 egg whites, beaten 1/3 cup strawberry preserves Preheat oven to 350* Cream together the butter and sugar. Gradually add the egg yolks, vanilla, salt and flour. Mix until well blended. Shape into 1" balls, dip in the egg whites and place on greased cookie sheet. Press a thumbprint into top of each cookie. Bake for 15-17 minutes. Cool. Just before serving, fill holes with strawberry preserves.
